It’s nice to revisit a city in a different way than the last. It was December of 2015 when I last came to Seattle…which also happened to be my first flight as an adult. The first time I was here, the weather was so much colder and wetter. Luckily, I love cold weather! I have an unusually large collection of coats for a person who lives in LA, so when I decided to travel to Seattle earlier this month, I was excited to drag also my Winter outerwear with me for the 3-day mini vacation!
We stayed at the W Seattle hotel which was conveniently a 10-minute walk from Pike Place Market.
PIKE PLACE
Pike Place is one of the main tourist attractions in Seattle and it’s surrounded by delicious food around every corner! I’ve listed the places of where I ate at the bottom!
THE GUM WALL
Oh, The Gum Wall. One can smell the minty blend of flavors from each piece of gum that is stuck on this alley wall from yards away. Although I was somewhat disgusted by it, it’s still something to check out.
WATERFRONT SEATTLE
This was my first time at the Waterfront and we were able to catch the beautiful sunset during our walk there.
SEATTLE GREAT WHEEL
My fear of heights didn’t stop me from getting on the Seattle Great Wheel. It was much taller than I expected, of course, but the view is absolutely breathtaking at night.
THE ORIGINAL STARBUCKS
1912 Pike Pl, Seattle, WA 98101
KERRY PARK
211 W Highland Dr, Seattle, WA 98119
This is a small park with an amazing view of the skyline.
SPACE NEEDLE
400 Broad St, Seattle, WA 98109
Out of all of the observation decks I’ve been in, the Space Needle is my favorite! You get a crystal clear 360° view of Seattle because the walls are completely glass on the top level and a rotating glass floor on the bottom level.
SEATTLE PUBLIC LIBRARY – 10th Floor
Amazing architecture.
PIONEER SQUARE
UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON
During the last hours we had in Seattle, we decided to stop by University of Washington. Their Reading Room makes you feel like you’re in Hogwarts!
WHERE WE ATE
PIKE PLACE CHOWDER
As you can see below, this place has won first place for their chowder for years. I just had to come back for their clam chowder! 10/10!!!
Seafood Bisque (left) and Clam Chowder (right)
RACHEL’S GINGER BEER
This place was recommended to me by a friend and I’m glad I checked it out! I got the white peach flavor and it was refreshing even for a chilly day.
SERIOUS PIE
We found this place through Yelp and decided to eat here for dinner because of the good ratings; HOWEVER, there was a one hour wait and you share a table with other groups of people (shoulder to shoulder). We ordered one $19 pizza and I have to say…it was average tasting.
ELLENO’S REAL GREEK YOGURT
This was my last purchase in Seattle and I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place! I got their Marionberry Pie Greek Yogurt and it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever tasted. DEFINITELY CHECK THEM OUT!
BISCUIT BITCH
I’ve never had biscuits and gravy for breakfast before this and I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered the Smokin’ Hot Bitch. The first couple bites were delicious, but it’s definitely a shareable item.
BEECHER’S HANDMADE CHEESE
First of all, I love cheese…so, obviously, I had to try the World’s Best Mac & Cheese here in Seattle! I must say, it 100% lives up to their title. Also, you can watch them make a tubful of cheese right through the window!
PIROSHKY, PIROSHKY…
Since many of the places I wanted to check out were right next to each other, we just decided to stop by here. They have delicious Russian pastries and we ended up stopping by again the next day.
Overall, we were able to cover a good amount of Seattle that I didn’t get to experience the first time I was here. It’s such a beautiful city and I was absolutely come back to visit again in the future.
