The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire

April 10, 2018

Ever imagined how it was during the medieval days? Imagine no more because in Southern California, you can enter the medieval world at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire! It’s located at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale, CA.

The Faire

Stepping into a place where everyone is dressed up and in character makes you really wonder if it’s real life. It’s such an experience! There are plenty of games and activities for all ages: throwing ninja stars, axes, spears, and knives (which aren’t sharp btw), bow and arrows, and much more. You can even meet the queen and watch a jousting tournament!

MY OUTFIT

I personally love dressing up for events such as this; it betters the entire experience. Although there were so many people with costumes – fairies, gypsies, pirates, and plain renaissance attire – I went with something simple and somewhat comfortable (I don’t recommend wearing heels!).

Overall, I definitely recommend anyone to head to the Renaissance Faire. It’s a completely different world and a unique experience. It’s not mandatory to dress up, but I’m certain you will have much more fun if you do!
